With a score of 93 on the PlayStation 5 and 94 on the console from Microsoft, Hades took first place. Since the launch of the latest generation of consoles in 2020, no other game has achieved such a high rating. A major achievement for the indie game, because Demon’s Souls, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, among others, should be gathering dust. On PC and Switch, Hades’ original platforms featured, Hades finished in handsome fifth place on Metacritic, trailing only a handful of giants like Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odysey.
In Hades, players take on the role of Zagreus, the son of the leader of the underworld Hades, trying to escape from Hell. Of course, this is not without conflict and you will die more than once. With each fall, the melody begins again until you enter all the encounters in your memory and see the merciless hordes of enemies. Highly interactive controls, excellent dialogues, and a particularly in-depth story ensured that Hades’ audiences were greeted with cheers. De Wacht is now also familiar with the Supergiant gem and can recommend it to everyone to check out, because it is well worth your time!
