Hugo Secket has caught the eye of Club Brugge. The former player had a strong season at Cercle Brugge and could now end up with a major rival on the same pitch.
After the home defeat to Union SG in the final of the Champions League play-off, Hugo Secket made it clear that he would no longer play for De Veringen the following season after being loaned from Freiburg to Cercle Brugge.
“Anyway, I suppose I played my last home game for Cercle. There are some negotiations going on with my agent, but for me, it is 99 per cent a done deal that I will work somewhere else next season,” he said at the time.
However, it is possible that he will stay at Jan Breydel. The young defender is still under contract with Freiburg until 2026, but he could look elsewhere again, with Club Brugge also mentioned.

According to Sacha Tavoleri, Club Brugge are following him closely. Blauw-zwart has even started discussions with the former Standard de Liège player. There are foreign ships on the coast for the 22-year-old Belgian.
There is also interest from the French league and Siquet himself may also prefer to move to a new competition. But it cannot be ruled out at the moment that he will make a delicate move within Brugge.
