televisionA man in the “Gert’s Table” audience fell ill on Wednesday evening. The man had to be escorted out of the room while writer Nellie Reimen, 40, testified about her mastectomy.
Nellie Reiman spoke at length about the treatment she underwent at Gert’s Table. “Everyone asks me if I’m in pain, but it’s more like discomfort,” he said. “My skin is numb, and the feeling is gradually coming back, but when they remove the patches, I don’t feel it.” She chose to have a mastectomy and reconstruction using her own tissue. The writer explained in detail how this was done. A powerful testimony, which struck a chord with the audience. One person became unwell during her story and had to be escorted out of the room. Fortunately, the man soon felt better again, presenter Geert Verhulst later said.

They were told eight years ago that Nelly and her sisters were genetically affected by the breast cancer gene. Her two sisters had previously chosen amputation, but Nellie decided to wait a little longer. “I didn’t really know it at the time. I didn’t have a relationship yet and I didn’t have kids, so I felt a bit invincible. I thought: ‘We’ll see,'” the writer says. But now that she has two children, the situation is different, she says: “I am no longer responsible for myself alone. I have a family and a partner. So I cannot get sick.”
She herself looks positively to the future. “I think it’s going to be okay. For a lot of women, it’s very hard to lose those breasts, but for me it wasn’t that big of a deal. I don’t want to look back with nostalgia, but look forward to what’s coming. I had a D cup and fed “It has two children. And now I have beautiful breasts. A decision that her partner also completely understood. “And from the beginning he said: ‘This is better than being sick.'”
