Popular Italian restaurant and delis Osteria Moretti is moving. The new branch in Havermarket (where Brazzaville used to be) will officially open on May 2nd.
No matter how small the business, Moretti is now a household name in Hasselt and the surrounding area. The friendly restaurant serves authentic dishes at the table or at the bar, and also has gift baskets and takeaway platters for sale. Directors Tiana Moretti and Alexandre Rainier have already been honored several times for their concept, including the Sole Orto Award from Unizo Hasselt. The restaurant received a score of 13.5 out of 20 in the Gault&Millau culinary guide.
In order to welcome more guests and expand the concept with a wider width, the business is moving to a larger building. Alexander and Tiana found it at Havermarket, where they will open their doors on May 2. “We are transforming the building into a unique and distinctive work where we welcome you to enjoy our creativity and Italian hospitality,” say the managers. It will be a mix of grab-and-go breakfast (under the Sunrise name), Italian gifts (La Cantina Shop), wine bar, deli and of course the classic restaurant.
Moretti will remain active in his current Aldestraat location until April 21.
