The first businesses to take advantage of the opportunity to advertise on the Lelystad Food Bank's refrigerated truck were Lelystad Airport and De Groene Sluis thrift store. The announcements for both companies were revealed by the companies themselves. Christel Slaght, Marketing and Communications Manager (Lelystad Airport) and Janneke Beckert, Project Manager at Groene Sluis, revealed their “special” advertising on the refrigerated car.
Keep in process
Due to the announcement, the two companies are the first to link their name to the Lelystad Food Bank in this way. This allows companies to help keep the truck running.
The refrigerated vehicle was purchased in July and serves as an essential link in the food supply for less fortunate people. According to De Groene Sluis, their advertising is a logical choice, as the activities are an extension of the food bank.
Green lock
Both are also volunteer organizations with a social mission and environmental goal. Different target groups benefit directly and indirectly from Groene Sluis. This certainly includes the less fortunate.
De Groene Sluis profits are distributed to several charities. This also includes the Lelystad Food Bank. So supporting the food bank in a way that increases De Groene Sluis brand awareness is a win-win situation.
Lelystad Airport
By mentioning the name on the refrigerated truck, Lelystad Airport wants to support people who are facing difficult times. The Airport Food Bank has shown how important this is.
By advertising on the Food Bank's refrigerated truck, it can continue driving and Lelystad Airport contributes to maintaining a responsible food supply in Lelystad and the immediate surrounding area.
Just started
The sponsorship campaign has already begun thanks to the two ads. Since the first two companies crossed the bridge, the food bank hopes more companies will advertise the refrigerated truck. As the new year dawns, promotional budgets will once again become available here and there.
There are 15 advertising surfaces available on the refrigerated truck. Once these areas are filled, it will generate enough money to pay a significant portion of the annual costs.
The 2 year old truck was purchased in July 2023 and is a replacement for the old truck that was written off. Purchasing the car was a big investment, but it had proven its value in the meantime.
This applies not only to the Lelystad Food Bank, but also to food banks in the region. To keep a vehicle running, financing is needed to cover annual costs, such as maintenance, parts replacement, and fuel.
