televisionHe may have left Netflix’s “The Witcher” behind him, but Henry Cavill hasn’t laid down his sword yet. He will soon appear in the reboot of Highlander, a popular fantasy film from 1986, starring Christopher Lambert.
Henry Cavill has had no shortage of work since he made the controversial decision to leave The Witcher on Netflix. Not only is he working as an actor and producer on his own “Warhammer 40,000” series, based on the popular board game, but he will also soon appear in the “Highlander” movie.
It’s a remake of the original film from the 1980s, which starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown as immortal beings who hunt each other down for more power. The soundtrack was provided by “Queen”.
According to experts in this sector, the project has already achieved success. This is partly because director Chad Stahelski (known from the movie “John Wick”) chose Henry as the lead role. Cavill already has a lot of experience with sword fighting, which will come in handy during filming. He is also a huge fan of fantasy, which makes him very familiar with the source material.
Filming will begin in 2024. Stahelski said that if the film proves successful, there may be plans for a trilogy.
