“For sale: Historic building in a green area with a beautiful location. Modern living room, charming kitchen with dining area, bathroom with freestanding bath and walk-in shower. You may start dreaming when you read the description of the property, but when you look at the pictures you wonder if the description is really about it.” With the property in question. Hannes Coudenis of Ugly Belgian Houses gave us a great idea. He has an AI that creates images to describe Belgian real estate agents. The results are great.
Codenis, a man who takes photos of Belgian houses and distributes them under the name Ugly Belgian Houses (or “Ugly Belgian Houses”), instructs artificial intelligence (AI) to create an image of the house along with the real estate agents’ texts. The AI-generated images are slightly different from real-life homes. And even that is an understatement.
“This charming country house has a spacious garden with a beautiful view of the green surroundings beyond. The home has a solid building structure and has a lot of potential! On the ground floor there is a hall with stairs leading to the second floor, a living room with a seating and dining area, a kitchen, a balcony, a laundry room, a toilet, a storage room and a garage. On the second floor there are three bedrooms and a storage room. There is also a spacious outbuilding and garage.
Below you can view the result. On the left we see the house that fits the real estate agent's description according to the AI, and on the right the house that actually fits the description. Even after blinking a few times, the similarities between the two images remain distant. But judge for yourself.
Another example is on the Facebook page for ugly Belgian houses. Artificial Intelligence vs. Reality:
