AI startup ElevenLabs has released a tool that allows users to create sound effects via text prompts. Effects can last up to 22 seconds. It is also possible to create short music clips or audio sounds.

The feature is available for free, but only paying users are allowed to use the tool commercially. Writes eleven labs. At the default audio clip length, each prompt uses 200 characters. If users set the length of the clips themselves, each generation costs 40 characters per second. Free users get access to 10,000 characters per month.
