Over 100 people have been killed and 158 injured in Israeli airstrikes on refugee camps in the center of the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, a Gaza health official told various media. Among the dead were Jaber Abu Hadros, a journalist for Al Quds TV channel, and six of his relatives, which the channel said was linked to the Islamic Jihad extremist group.
The Israeli army has been attacking the Buraj, Nusirat and Makasi refugee camps south of the Wadi Gaza River that separates the north and south for several days. A resident of Burej told Andhra News that he heard gunfire last night, followed by heavy airstrikes this morning.
“They are striking everywhere,” Syed Mustafa, a resident of Nusirat, told the AP. 'Families are being killed in homes and on the streets. They are killed everywhere. Another Nusirat resident, Mustafa Abu Wawi, confirmed this. “The occupiers are doing everything they can to force people to leave,” he said, searching for survivors amid the rubble. “They want to break our spirit and will, but they will fail. We're not going anywhere.'
