Anyone who has not been fully vaccinated and therefore does not have a Covid Safe Ticket must be able to submit a negative PCR test for a maximum of 48 hours. So anyone wishing to go to a festival for several days should in principle be able to submit a negative PCR test more than once. This action, among other things, was a thorn in the side of the Pukkelpop organizers. Express tests are also allowed, but they are only valid for 24 hours.
“Our audience is bigger than the Pukkelpop audience. They are motivated to get vaccinated. A very large group have been fully vaccinated,” said Bernard de Rymaker, a spokesman for Alcatraz. And for those who haven’t been (fully) vaccinated yet, we are looking for a solution. We are still looking at how we deal With her, to be in compliance with the rules regarding PCR testing and rapid testing. We will communicate about that very soon. But again, Alcatraz will definitely not be cancelled. I won’t say anything about ticket sales, but there is a good chance that Alcatraz will sell,” said spokesperson Bernard de Remaker .
Alcatraz 2021 will take place from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 August at the festival site behind the De Lange Munte sports campus in Hoog Kortrijk. The festival features three stages and the toughest line-up ever and draws around 25,000 revelers. More information via www.alcatraz.be.
