Alienware 4K QD OLED Display Priced at $1,199 – Computer – News

Dell's Alienware brand is showing off a number of new QD OLED gaming monitors at CES in Las Vegas. This relates to two 27-inch and 32-inch monitors. The latest model has 4K resolution and will cost $1,199. Euro rates are unknown.

The Alienware AW3225QF is a 32-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) monitor with a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz, while the 27-inch AW2725DF has a refresh rate of up to 360Hz and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Compared to competing 32-inch 4K QD OLED displays, the AW3225QF differs in that the panel is slightly curved (1700R) rather than flat. In addition, the monitor supports Dolby Vision HDR, while computer monitors usually only support HDR10. Two HDMI 2.1 ports support eARC for connecting speakers, and the AW3225QF is officially Nvidia G-SYNC compatible, but doesn't have the AMD Freesync Premium logo, while the cheaper AW2725DF has the Freesync Premium Pro logo but no G-SYNC label.

The “HDMI2.1” port on the AW2725DF has the bandwidth of the HDMI2.0 port, limiting the maximum refresh rate over HDMI to 144Hz. The AW2725DF's two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs support the full refresh rate. This monitor has a flat panel.

The AW3225QF features the same black-and-white design as the AW3423DW, and is Alienware's first QD OLED display as of 2022, while the AW2725DF has an all-black body, like the newer AW3423DWF. Both displays have RGB lighting and height adjustment and offer the same SDR peak brightness of 250cd/m², HDR peak brightness of 1000cd/m², and 99 percent DCI-P3 color coverage as competing products. What is striking is the lack of a USB-C port, although the monitors contain a five-port USB hub. As with previous QD OLED displays, Dell offers a three-year “copy-proof warranty.”

Alienware AW2725DF

Alienware is by no means the only brand introducing new QD OLED displays during CES: Samsung, ASUS, MSI, and HP, among others, are showing off similar products. Unlike many competitors, Alienware mentions a specific launch date. The screens will be available in stores in the United States starting next Thursday. Alienware also announced pricing in dollars: the AW3225QF will be priced at $1,199 in the US, while the AW2725DF will retail for $899.

Update 9-1, 5:40 p.m.: Although information accompanying the press release indicates availability in the rest of the world before February 6, as we mentioned earlier in this article, Dell says there is no launch date for Europe yet. For this reason, euro rates have not yet been announced.
