There appears to be no end to the case surrounding Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner. Red Bull acquitted him of inappropriate behavior, but the story does not end there. It now appears that the employee who filed the complaint has also gone to the FIA.
At the beginning of February, it became clear that the Red Bull Group had launched an independent investigation into possible inappropriate behavior by Horner. Before the season opener in Bahrain, Horner was cleared, but the story does not end there. The BBC reported this weekend that the employee had also filed a complaint with the FIA's ethics department. On February 2, Horner's behavior was reported to the Ethics and Complaints Department hotline.
According to the BBC, the FIA was asked to investigate and there were concerns that Red Bull was sweeping the matter under the rug. A second complaint was reportedly filed on 6 March, also in reference to the first, and a whistleblower warned the FIA that he would go to the media. The FIA did not want to say anything about this in a statement: “At the FIA, questions and complaints are received and dealt with by the Compliance Officer and the Ethics Committee. The two bodies work independently and ensure complete confidentiality during the entire process.” “For this reason we cannot confirm receipt of a specific complaint and are unlikely to be able to comment further.”
