In and of itself, I have no problem asking a lot of money for a good/unique product.
Look at Ferrari, they have made enough profits, so their products are sold “expensive”. But you can also drive a Lamborghini, Pagani, McLaren or Koenigsegg, to name a few.
I myself work at ASML, where a lot of profits are made. You may not think this is true, but there is no competition for UV, which is partly due to years of investment.
What I have a problem with is that Apple not only charges a lot for good products, but they also charge a lot for unnecessary items.
some examples:
Apple hasn’t supported SD cards in iPhones as internal storage for years, which many Android phones do. This is understandable in itself, because the internal memory could be faster.
But to charge a factor of 5 to 10 more compared to an SD card or even an SSD, it becomes a scam. Because a lot He is Simply not worth it. It’s not faster, more reliable, or more durable than an SSD. But it is a more expensive x factor.
The omission of the 3.5mm connection forces you to purchase wireless headphones. They are easier to lose, which incurs additional costs, and Bluetooth covers are often more expensive (and less user-friendly due to shipping).
Apple then tries to monopolize repairs by registering device identifiers. A technical trick to marginalize third parties and always engage in repairs yourself.
And that’s it no necessary. I’ve been complaining about these developments for years, they’ve been around for 15-20 years (or more), so they’re not temporary anymore. No matter how many times the “yes, but…” arguments are repeated, the facts mentioned have never been refuted: Apple has been stealing its customers for years in unnecessary ways.
I think it’s like peeing your pants in the winter. In the end you will stay warm, but after 20 years I no longer smell good..
