Westerlo maintained their perfect record on Saturday evening by beating vice-champions Union in a very clever way. This means Anderlecht will have to work hard to stay in the lead. After all, they will have to stay clear and beat OH Leuven.
It won’t be easy, as OHL presents itself as a strong defensive block at Lotto Park. However, Anderlecht found the opening once.
Verschaeren leaves an impression
After a clever combination, Dolberg was able to open the score. Fans were particularly impressed by one player.
After all, Jari Verschaeren has been getting plenty of praise for X. The playmaker cleverly played Struykens through and was able to set up Dolberg. It would be a welcome boost for the 23-year-old, who has been plagued by injuries in recent years and could soon face stiff competition β Anderlecht are still looking for a creative midfielder.
OHL will come along.
Unfortunately for Anderlecht, the goal was not enough as Mertens managed to rally the visitors before half-time. As a result, Westerlo will have to work hard in the second half to catch up to the top of the world rankings.
