André Hazes spoke remarkable candidly about his private life earlier this week on the Humberto Tan talk show. He spoke about his relationship with the Dutch press, and his love life was also briefly discussed.
His love affairs have been the talk of the town for years, with the split from Monique Westenberg and a new relationship with Sarah van Solen. According to Andrei, it is difficult to reduce the excessive media exposure. He says, “This is something we think about a lot. We don’t know. I’m very honest about it. I’m also just a 27-year-old boy who does what he thinks is right.”
“I only choose my happiness”
A few months ago, he broke off his engagement to Monique Westenberg, only to start a relationship with Sarah van Solen shortly thereafter. There was a lot of criticism. “In my eyes, choosing my happiness is the only thing I’ve done, but that seems to be a ‘thing’ with people,” the singer says. “This is how I handle it myself. I’m 27, stubborn, in love and want to scream at him from the rooftops. That’s a combination that seems wrong to some people.”
“I can handle everything, but somewhere I am also young and it affects me,” André admits. “And then you see all these negative reactions, and then you think it’s all from Holland, you know. 500 people from Appelscha or something, because everyone is so nice.”
