A while ago, Andre Hazes released the song “Kleine, Grote Vriend”. The song is a catchy message to his son Dre, who is currently staying with his mother, Monique Westenberg. He had no doubts about his release.
“That was just a message I wanted to pass on,” Andre says of the song on the counter at Humberto Tan. “Was it too early? Yes. I’m late for that now. I just don’t regret the song, because I think it’s really beautiful.”
“Maybe I should have released it a year later, because I didn’t expect it to be so big with people,” the singer looks back now. “If I had known that, I might have done other things differently.”
All in good advice
Monique Westenberg was one of the first to hear the song. “When I walked out of the studio, I immediately walked up to her and let her hear it,” Andre says. “I’m sure Dre would really like this later,” she literally said. “We really do everything in good counsel. It’s not that she suddenly got a song like this under her nose. The most important thing for us is that Dre notices as little as possible.”
