via College decision Service providers are allowed to charge cars if they are parked on the street, for example. It is already possible to charge cars on private property using a mobile charging station. The municipal council still has to approve the council's decision. Antwerp startup UZE He says to VRT We want to implement the new policy later this year. UZE uses electric vans equipped with batteries to charge cars. DC charging is used for this purpose. Last May, the company announced its desire to charge shared electric cars with this. Later this year, the company wants to expand to individuals, with a testing phase for hundreds of people. In the fall, the company hopes to expand the shipping option to everyone in Antwerp.
The idea is for people to park their cars, for example, in a car park and request a mobile charging station using the UZE app. The UZE charging station then goes to the vehicle and charges it. A 40-minute charging session costs around €30, although it's not clear how many kilowatt-hours are involved. UZE says it's more expensive than express shipping along the highway.
