Apple TV+ will release a new documentary later this month that focuses entirely on K-pop music. The documentary is aptly titled K-pop idols It will consist of six episodes. These will be available on the streaming service starting Friday, August 30. The documentary series has now received an official trailer.

Apple TV+ will release the documentary series on Friday, August 30. K-pop idolsThe streaming service will delve deeper into the genre by following several K-pop artists. This is primarily a solo artist. Jessewho debuted in 2005. She was then part of the hip-hop group Uptown and the trio Lucky J, and later launched her solo career in 2019. Jessi was born in the United States, but moved to South Korea when she was 15 years old.
The second K-pop artist we will be following is the boy band GravityThe group consists of nine members and debuted in 2020. The group includes two members, Minhee and Hyeongjun, who were part of the group X1 that was formed on the show. X 101 ProductionHowever, X1 was forced to split up just a few months later due to suspected vote rigging in the final.
The third group to be followed is: Black SwanThis is a special group, because none of the four members are Korean. This concerns the Senegalese-Belgian Fatou, the American Navy, the Brazilian-German Gaby, and the Indian Shriya. Since the four trains in South Korea according to the K-pop system, they are considered a K-pop group. So they will definitely be able to provide an interesting look into the world of K-pop.
Tractor
In the documentary, we will see footage of the artists during their training and they will also be interviewed about what it means to be a K-pop artist. In the official trailer, we already see footage of Jessi in Paris. In 2022, the singer and rap star was stranded in Paris during her European tour. The local tour manager wouldn’t arrange a hotel for her, so she had to try to find a hotel room on her own in the middle of the night. We hear her say, “I thought everything would be great and beautiful if I was a K-pop star, but that’s not the reality.”
In the documentary, we will follow the turbulent times of Jessi and BLACKSWAN. Jessi decided to take care of her own management and BLACKSWAN made several lineup changes. In the documentary, we see the three former members of BLACKSWAN. This concerns South Korean members Judy and Younghoon and Brazilian-Japanese Lia.
Part of the documentary will also take place in Brussels. This will include BLACKSWAN performing at La Madeleine in Brussels in 2022. This will be the first performance with new members Gabi and Shriya and also Fatou’s first performance in her home country.
