Art to Power De Goorn is looking for a connector «Sound Guide

The brass band Kunst naar Kracht is a dynamic and lively musical association from De Jorn in the North of the Netherlands with a rich history since its foundation in 1922. The association consists of three orchestras: the A-Band, the New Brass & Rhythm (B-Band) and the orchestra. Since recently also the percussion group Slagkracht (led by Lex Bak), with which we can present and support a wide musical range.

Band A is a young, passionate, top-tier band made up of passionate musicians. They have the ambition to grow together as a band and strive to excel musically and socially. New Brass & Rhythm is KnK’s B band where musicians from the Youth Academy and abroad can join. In this band they develop further with the support of the A band members. With this vacancy, KnK is looking for a new music director for both Band A and Band B.

Many of our musicians come from the area and have been involved with the association since they were young. They have progressed from our musical training to Band A. About a third of the members are active or have experience in the orchestras of the Concert Department.

Band A has a busy programme of around 10 performances a year, ranging from tournaments and competitions to big theatre concerts and village events. New Brass & Rhythm performs around six performances a year (often in conjunction with Band A). Band A rehearses weekly on Friday evenings from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm in their clubhouse, “De Koperblazer”, in De Goorn. New Brass & Rhythm (B-band) rehearses weekly on the same evening from 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm.

We are looking for a connector who:
– He has experience in the world of brass bands and knowledge of brass band repertoire.
– It can challenge us musically in a positive and energetic way.
– The ambition is to grow more together.
– Decisive and shows leadership
– He can clearly convey his musical vision.
– It can create a comfortable atmosphere during workouts.
– Our youth can inspire
– Available on Friday evenings
