The Q8 e-tron will be the new model to be built at the Audi plant in Brussels. At least that’s what the German trade magazine Automobilwoche writes based on sources in the group. Final decision will be in November.
The Audi e-tron is currently being manufactured at Audi Brussels. It will receive a final update in 2023, after which the model will expire after three years.
From 2026, the Q8 e-tron, perhaps a slightly larger SUV than the e-tron, will roll off the production line at the Brussels plant, says Automobilwoche. If confirmed, the future of the plant is guaranteed for a number of additional years.
In March, Peter Kossler, in charge of Audi production and logistics, stated that Brussels would get a successor. “The plant in Brussels is important to us and an essential part of our production network,” he said at the time. “The e-tron is now a third of its life and we’ll see what happens next. There will be a successor, but it’s still too early to have more information today.”
At the end of last year, the Belgian Audi factory confiscated the electric Landjet model. It will be built in Hanover from 2024.
