Bandai Namco Brings Gundam: Evolution to the West

Games in which Gundams and mobile suits from different timelines compete against each other are not rare anymore. But here in the West we get only a fraction of those games.

However, Gundam Evolution, a 6v6 multiplayer first-person shooter starring the mechanics, will be here. So revealed BANDAI NAMCO last night at State of Play. The game will pit players against each other in three modes, Point Capture, Dominate and Destroy, with a choice of twelve bots (to start). More bots can then be purchased with in-game credits or microtransactions.

Twelve machines welcome beginners still a mystery, but BANDAI NAMCO has already revealed that at least the RX-78-2 GUNDAM (one of the first Gundams in the original series) and the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos are iron orphans. It will be among the options.

“Rooted in the values of hope, peace, teamwork and victory, the essence of the Gundam brand is captured in Gundam: Evolution,” said Kazuya Maruyama, Executive Producer at BANDAI NAMCO Online. “We can’t wait for veterans of all ages, whose Gundam fan base started at various points in the series’ 40-year history, beginners can band together on the Gundam Battlefield: Evolution and battle it out using their favorite mobile, Gundam series suits and more.”

“Gundam: Evolution strives to strike a balance between accessibility and mastery, making it the perfect shooter for all players of all skill levels to experience solo or with a group of friends,” continued Ryota Hogaki, Director of Play at BANDAI NAMCO Online. “With so many powerful mobile suits available to them, we hope players around the world will absorb the thrill of an epic mecha battle and fall in love with Gundam: Evolution.”
