Belarus has responded to the latest round of sanctions imposed by the international community with travel bans and import restrictions. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk on Monday.

For example, the country will ban the import of a number of goods from countries that apply “unlawful sanctions against Belarus,” she said. It will also impose restrictions on airlines in the European Union and the United Kingdom. The ministry did not reveal the names of companies and individuals who may be affected and the specific countries to which the import ban applies.
The European Union on Thursday repeated sanctions against Belarusian government officials, airlines, tour operators and hotels involved in transporting migrants to the EU border. The United States, the United Kingdom and Canada simultaneously announced new sanctions.
The West accused Belarus of provoking a migration crisis on the border with Poland in retaliation for European sanctions imposed after Lukashenko’s victory in the elections in the summer of 2020, which he described as fraudulent.
