Belgian cat Hanne Mestdagh will play basketball in Las Palmas

Hanne Mestdagh faces a new challenge abroad. The Belgian cat will play with Las Palmas in Gran Canaria next season. The Spanish club announced this on Monday.

The 28-year-old Moustadagh left Namur where she played for the past three seasons. It will be her third outdoor adventure. She previously played in the United States for Colorado State University (2011-2015) and in Germany at Freiburg (2016-2017). In her country, she was also active in Ypres, Sint-Katelijne-Waver and Castors Braine.

“I am very happy to be able to play abroad again, a few years after my return to Belgium,” Mustadagh said in the first reaction. ‘I would like to try it again. Las Palmas finished eighth in Spain last season and will play in the European Cup qualifiers next season.
