Minister Ben Weitz is active in the bid to co-host the 2027 Women’s World Cup with the Netherlands and Germany. He wants to renovate several stadiums to keep them out of place compared to the other two countries.
“We really want to win the Women’s Football World Cup. So Flanders is ready to finance our stadiums where the tournament will be held, we just need to make the necessary changes for this event. This World Cup will give a huge boost to our women’s football,” she said. He knows in X
It is not yet known which stadiums will be featured. FIFA will decide where the 2027 World Cup will be held at a conference on May 17 next year. The bidding process for this started yesterday. Countries have until April 21 to submit their applications.
South Africa, USA, Mexico, Brazil and Chile have also expressed interest. This summer (July 20-August 20) the World Cup will be held in Australia and New Zealand. The Red Flames failed to qualify. The United States will defend its world title after winning in France in 2019.
