Bentley no longer expects to sell only electric cars by 2030

It's simple…the dealer I bought my car from sold second cars to privateers last year, and I didn't think anything of hybrids. I must look for it. So almost all electronic and hybrid cars were commercial.

No one, but no one I know (and I know a fair number of people) would buy an e-car or a hybrid. No one sees the point of that and says…yeah, but the driving range, where am I going to charge.

An e-car is great if you can charge it at the door, but if you can't, it's a disaster. You even get “fines” for sticking to a charging station… Yes, I'm not getting up at night to move my car. Then there's driving range, which fluctuates wildly depending on the weather. Then you read that some municipalities want to close public charging stations between certain hours… All this will certainly not help. And we're not even talking about the cost yet. Who would pay an extra 10k for a hybrid or e-car? Everything has become more expensive, including regular cars. But paying an extra 10k or more with the above issues is not something one would hardly do. Yes, there are always some, but that is the absolute minority.

And I always read that demand is going to increase… they simply can't sell an e-car to an individual. And business… a lot of people complain… yeah, but I had a 3 or 5 series with everything. And now I can barely make 3-4 choices. They are also not at all happy with hybrid cars or mandatory e-cars. And download? Are you crazy, I'm just going to get gas.

The only reason I now own a hybrid is because if I have an application form here in Belgium before July 1, 2023, I will still have the full rebate for gasoline. That's why I sold my diesel car with 60k miles. This hybrid is perfect for my use, since I always drive “around church” these days. To school/store and once a week I do 50+km. I filled the car when I received it… Meanwhile the odometer shows 1100 km and with petrol I can drive another 200 km according to the on-board computer. I can easily take a long trip if necessary, without any loading stress or anything. But if I had to buy that car personally, I would only use the gasoline and not the hybrid.
