Bert Cross (CBS) appointed to head the International Monetary Fund

Croisi has also played the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at CBS. Among other things, he was responsible for Statistics Netherlands’ statistical cooperation with international organizations such as the United Nations and Eurostat. Over the past seven years, Croese has also chaired the United Nations panel of Environmental and Economic Accountability Experts and played an important role in developing new methods and data on climate.

Cross says he is proud to take on this position at the IMF, “but I am leaving CBS with a sad heart. I learned a lot here and did such great things with my wonderful colleagues. CBS has become a part of my life.”

According to CBS General Manager Angelique Berg, Kroese will be greatly missed by the organization: “But we are very pleased with the move. The fact that the International Monetary Fund has asked him for this prestigious position says it all about Burt. He has been instrumental in developing CBS into one of the world’s leading statistics offices. Burt was the source of many of the innovations that made CBS famous. He has also spent years using his knowledge and unifying power on international platforms to advance the international statistical community. It will undoubtedly mean a lot to the IMF.”

Tonight at 9 p.m., the IMF will publish its press release.
