- Alexia Bertrand switched from MR to Open Vld to take up the position of Secretary of State for the Budget, following the forced departure of Eva De Bleecker (Open Vld) from the position. During the elections, she ranked fourth on the parliamentary movement list in Brussels.
- Here the question now arises: For which party will Bertrand sit in the Brussels Parliament? By swearing in Dutch or French, you can still switch sides. For Bertrand the choice was clear: open Vld.
- “There was absolutely no ambiguity about the fact that I campaigned on the Joint List as an Open VLD candidate. That was part of the agreement. It is therefore natural that I would be sworn into parliament in this faction, even though Open Vld’s result is clearly worse than The result of the Revolutionary Movement Party,” explains Bertrand. On X.
