Beerschot wants to do everything he can in the coming months to ensure he retains him in the Jupiler Pro League, although that would be a real miracle. After all, he still had barely nine points in the competition, and thus he was finally signed. The penultimate place is already ten points away, and the gap with the perfectly safe sixteenth place is fourteen points.
With just a few reinforcements, Bearchot is hoping to start a reshape after all, and so far they’ve already won two acquisitions. Up front, Felipe Avenatti has to score, while in midfield, Dante Rigo has to start his career. The 23-year-old midfielder was moved away from PSV Eindhoven, where he couldn’t quite break through and is now completely out of sight.
But the former youth international doesn’t have an easy start at Kiel either. On Saturday, he was injured immediately in the training match against FC St. Pauli. “Dante Rigo suffered a bruised rib in a difficult duel,” the club said on their website. “Further research in Belgium should show how serious this injury is.”
weeks out?
Berchot returns to Belgium on Sunday, so Rigo will soon know the verdict regarding his injury. At best, he could rejoin the group in a matter of days, but at worst, it looks like he’ll be out for weeks. No doubt they hope Bierchot isn’t too bad…
vote: Will it be an added value to Biershot?
