A Brazilian model was arrested for walking her dogs topless on the beach. Caroline Werner (37 years old) theoretically faces a year in prison. She now denounces double standards in her homeland. It seems that “men are never guilty of such a thing.”
look. Caroline Werner walks dogs topless
Werner was already spotted in May in the seaside resort of Balneário Camboriú. She had tied her jacket around her waist and walked across the street with her breasts bare.
“I was treated completely unfairly. I was immediately handcuffed and not allowed to contact anyone, not even my lawyer,” Werner said.
“shocking”
The officers gave her a blouse to cover her breasts. At the police station, she was placed in a dark cell, her hands pinned to the bar. “They left me in this uncomfortable position for over an hour,” the criticism read.
In addition to her work as a model, the businesswoman also markets her bikini brand. “I have traveled a lot, and in many countries this is the most normal thing in the world. The fact that I was arrested for this in my home country shocked me. According to the constitution, we have equal rights as women, but this does not happen in practice.”
“People call me crazy”
Meanwhile, Werner was offered an out-of-court settlement, but she sent her cat to trial. She said she was never informed of her trial date.
“This case still haunts me. Videos of the incident are going viral on the Internet and people are calling me crazy. It is very difficult to live as a woman in Brazil,” says the model.
This case is reminiscent of the “Free the Nipple” movement in the United States. Then activist and filmmaker Lina Esko campaigned to not immediately see the female body as an object of lust.
