filmGood news for fans. Nearly a decade after the last film, Bridget Jones is returning to the big screen after details for a fourth film were confirmed. “Recordings will begin soon in London,” the Daily Mail wrote.
The popular movie “Bridget Jones' Baby” is finally getting a sequel. The Bridget Jones films follow the story of a single British woman of the same name, who keeps a diary of the things she wants to happen in her life. However, she soon faces a mystery when two men begin fighting for her affection. In the second film, she entered into a relationship with a man, but in the third film she discovered that she was unexpectedly pregnant and had to find out which of her two lovers was the father.
A fourth film about her romantic developments will soon begin filming in London. Original stars Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are also expected to attend. Production is already well underway and filming will begin in May, according to the Daily Mail.
A film source told the Daily Mail that it was initially uncertain whether the film would happen or not, but now it seems official. “Renee is excited about Bridget's return. The source also adds: 'She loves the character so much.'” The final film ended with Bridget marrying Mark, with whom she had an on-and-off relationship throughout the three films.
“Bridget Jones' Diary” first appeared on screens in 2001 and later spawned two series: “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” (2004) and “Bridget Jones's Baby” (2016). The original is based on Helen Fielding's 1996 novel of the same name and is a reinterpretation of Jane Austen's 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice.
