My GPU was actually melted with version 1.0 (only the power connector, so it didn't cost much to fix), but that's why I warned people when version 1.1 came out.
I will say now…if they come out with 1.2…don't buy.
These 180 Degree Cablemod connectors are always tumbleweed material and as cheap as can be.
I got an expensive one from Thermalgrizzly a while ago and it already feels four times as heavy. It also stays cool during use.
These are 12VHPWR, V1.0 and V1.1 angle converters
Dear hardware community:
It has come to our attention that some CableMod 12VHPWR Angled V1.1s adapters may be defective. We have since decided to stop selling our angle adapters. We will be issuing a voluntary safety recall for all CableMod 12VHPWR 90 ̊ and 180 ̊ Angled V1.0 Adapters and all CableMod 12VHPWR 90 ̊ and 180 ̊ Angled V1.1 Adapters due to the potential risk that the male connector may become loose, hot, or hotter. And it dissolves in the GPU.
This recall will only apply to our angled adapters and will not affect our angled cables.
We will be sending out official notification and full details about our voluntary safety recall in the coming days. In the meantime, owners of the CableMod 12VHPWR V1.0 and V1.1 angled adapters should stop using them immediately. Please do not touch the transformers while your system is running. Turn off your system and wait until the transformer has time to cool down before handling it.
Please contact our customer service if your GPU is affected by Angle Adapter V1.0 or V1.1 failure and we will help you. https://cablemod.com/support/
We apologize for the inconvenience to our loyal customers. We hope you will allow us to compensate you in the future.
