Capcom wants to make more remakes of Resident Evil games. According to the Japanese gaming company, the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 have been very well received by fans.
According to Yashiro Anpo, director of several Resident Remake releases, the remastering ensures that modern audiences will play the Resident Evil games and man says he’s glad they did. “We want to keep doing this.” It appeared during an event in Japan Where journalists from IGN were present. However, Anpo does not provide more information about possible new remakes.
The director also discussed the use of Capcom games’ RE Engine. According to Anpo, this engine is used in several games within the company and teams also exchange information. According to Anpo, this will have a positive impact on game development time.
Capcom has now released three new versions of Resident Evil games. A remake of Resident Evil 2 was released in 2019, followed by a remake of Resident Evil 3 in 2020 and Resident Evil 4 in 2023. Tweakers wrote a comprehensive review about the latter game and thought it was a successful remake.
