Ronnie O'Sullivan's verbal rant after the Masters final was unprecedented, but target Ali Carter won't lose any sleep over it. Carter responded briefly to his rival's statements, saying: “I feel a little sorry for him.”
“Fucking nightmare. He could have my middle finger and he could sit on it.”
The short summary of Ronnie O'Sullivan's tirade against Ali Carter does not read well. The 7-time world champion didn't have anything good to say about his long-time rival after the Masters final.
The English sports press enjoyed the story on Tuesday, but Carter himself did not seem to care. Ahead of his match in the first round of the World Grand Prix, he responded tersely to The Rocket's comments.
“Ronnie can think what he wants about me. I just said what happened, the facts. It's that simple,” replied Carter, who said after the Masters final that O'Sullivan “put his snot everywhere” and left it behind. .
His rival's tirade failed to convince Carter. “He leaves me cold. He says something different every day. I think sometimes he doesn't really know what words are going to come out of his mouth.”
“I feel a little sorry for him,” said Carter, who did not want to say more about the matter. “I don't think he's in a good place mentally.” “We'll get back to it this week. I'm just looking forward.”
The World Snooker Tour (WST) has now said it will review the situation with O'Sullivan and Carter.
