KV Mechelen gave Charleroi his second defeat in a row: 0-2. Nicolas Storm and Jordi Vanlerberghi made it 0-2, which is good for Michelin’s first away victory of the season.
Charleroi – KV Mechelen in a nutshell:
- key moment: Although Charleroi completely controls the game, it is the visitors who advance after 20 minutes. A goal that Micklin was then able to defend without many problems.
- man of the match: In a meager match, Nicola Storm occasionally provided a hot spot in front of goal. The blond striker not only provided the opening goal, but was also one of the most dangerous players among the visitors.
- Special: While Charleroi remained unbeaten in 7 games in our national competition, Carlos is now behind with 0 out of 6 after defeats against Club Brugge and Key in Michelin.

Storm gives Micklin the lead after a defensive error
From the start, Charleroi grabbed the visitors by the throat. After practicing on the number, a cross from Ilaimaharitra fell almost immediately, but Coucke was able to stretch to block an early opening goal.
Meanwhile, the home team stacked corner kicks in the opening stage, but it was Micklin who could threaten for the first time with a quick substitution. The storm stormed from the left, but directed his effort a little to the center.
The high tempo disappeared from the initial stage and the visitors improved. Not long after, the score was suddenly 0-1 when Storm, after a poor defense, broke into Kofi and simply rushed into the opening goal.
The host team was upset with the goal and had to leave possession of the ball to Michelin. However, the visitors also had such difficulty scoring clear goal chances that Franken’s men eventually went into the locker room with a small reward.

Charleroi hit the gas pedal and after Zarouri hit the ball past Cook’s goal after a pass from Elimharitra.
In an uninspiring second half, nothing changed in the score until Jordi Vanlerberge stepped in again. The defender was given plenty of space in the middle and he shot 0-2 in from about 25 meters through the crossbar.
Charleroi could no longer make his fist and in overtime Drogov missed a 0-3 chance from 11 metres. After a difficult start to the season, Mechelen booking 6 out of 6, Charleroi suffered a second loss in a row.
