Chelsea management is said to have entered into direct talks with the Saudi Football Federation to find a solution for Romelu Lukaku. The English club wants to benefit from the Belgian striker and does not want to spare any costs or effort. The question remains: What does Big Rom itself want?
After long discussions at the end of last season, Romelu Lukaku finally started working for Roma. With eighteen goals and four assists in all competitions, he has been invaluable to the Romans.
It now appears that he is gradually becoming ready to be at the 2024 European Championship in Germany. The problem: Lukaku is on loan from Chelsea to Roma and they do not have the financial resources to keep him longer.
Therefore, Lukaku will have to return to Chelsea at the end of the season. They don't seem to be really ready to give him another chance, so they are already looking for a solution for the former RSC Anderlecht striker.
60 million euros for Romelu Lukaku?
Romelu Lukaku is still under contract with the London club until 2026, so take advantage of him now or never. According to Sasha Tavoleri, the Chelsea board have now begun speaking with the Saudi Football Association to find a solution.
The Saudi sovereign fund owns 75% of the shares of the four main clubs in the country: Al-Nasr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahly and Al-Ittihad. Lukaku himself once noted that he was not reluctant to switch into protection mode. Chelsea hopes to get another sixty million euros for him.
