Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors responded by saying he couldn’t say anything more about Dead Island 2 just yet. “However, we were just talking about one unannounced AAA game… and you think it’s Dead Island 2, so I can’t say anything else about that.” He continued, laughing, “But I’m looking forward to unannounced matches.”
While the exact release date or time frame has yet to be confirmed, the company appears to be hinting at an upcoming announcement about the highly anticipated game.
Journalist Inside Tom Henderson claimed last week Talk to people closely involved in game development. Dambuster Studios will still be working on the game. “The game should run fine and could be revealed again soon through a game trailer.” According to Henderson, the game could be released in the last quarter of this year, although he doesn’t rule out a release next year either.
Dead Island 2 was announced in 2014, but has been delayed several times since then and hasn’t been shown for years. The game was first developed by Yager Development, then Sumo Digital took over. Eventually Dambuster was put into development.
