Three weeks ago, Beyoncé released her new song Song “Texas Hold 'Em” from. Thanks to the extremely popular song, it instantly made history. She became the first black woman to reach number one on the American country charts. However, the country song has now been discredited. It is said to be very similar to the soundtrack of the animated series “Franklin” that aired from 1997 to 2004. It is based around the banjo part at the beginning of the song, but the tempo of the singing is also said to be similar.
Videos of both songs are shared en masse on TikTok, where they are played together. The photos elicit great reactions. Many fans are convinced that the song “Texas Hold 'Em” was inspired by the song “Franklin”. Some even accuse the singer of plagiarism, but according to Bruce Cockburn – the singer and composer of the song in the cartoon series – there is nothing to it. “I think 'Texas Hold 'Em' is a great song,” he told TMZ. “The rhythmic feel is similar to my song from the TV series 'Franklin', but that's where the similarity ends. 'Texas Hold 'Em' is all Beyonce and I wish her good luck.”
Is it just a simple coincidence? Listen to the songs below and judge for yourself.
