In the Professional Challenger League, the first two matches of round 28 were completed. Zulte Waregem once again failed to win.
If Zulte Waregem wanted a chance at direct promotion to the Jupiler Pro League, they had to start winning. This has been achieved only once in the last five matches.
At home to Patro Eisden-Maasmechelen, who are fourth in the standings, Zulte Wargem got another chance. Gili Vossen had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half.
Zulte Waregem tried, but was unable to disable Patro Eisden's second-half interception. The score remained 0-0 at the Javerbek Stadium, leaving Zulte-Waregem three points behind second-placed Lommel. Patro is currently in joint second place.
SK Beveren wins without De Decker
In the other match, SK Beveren took on RSCA Futures. For Beveren, this was the first game since the sacking of coach Wim De Dekker, meaning the fans skipped the first fifteen minutes.
Koyalipo gave the home team the lead after twenty minutes, but Kolasin made it 1-1 two minutes later. The Waaslanders didn't let it get to their hearts and made it 2-1 just before the half-hour mark.
The second half was more moderate and the score remained 2-1. SK Beveren closes the gap to the top six to three points, with RSCA Futures remaining in 11th place.
