Last night, Blizzard Entertainment revealed the new Spiritborn class coming to Diablo IV alongside the Vessel of Hatred expansion in early October. The Spiritborn will become the sixth playable class alongside the Barbarian, Necromancer, Druid, Rogue, and Sorcerer.
Diablo IV is and will always be one of my favorite games right now. After playing all the playable classes, I have to conclude that the Sorcerer is my favorite. But that could change very soon. The Spiritborn class demo last night surprised me at times. I found the four Spirit Guardians that the Spiritborn can specifically call upon. Finding out which of these four elements can be combined well is something I’m really looking forward to. Below you can find the most important features of the Spiritborn class:
- The Spiritborn is an all-new class in the Diablo series that draws on the power of the four Spirit Guardians: Jaguar, Gorilla, Eagle, and Centipede. They are masters of close combat with a versatile playstyle that allows them to slay demons using spiritual energy.
- Hailing from the all-new region of Nahantu, the Spiritborn have a rich history revolving around their dedication to protecting the Spirit World, a ghostly reflection of the sanctuary where the spirits of the forest have a purpose beyond life.
- The spirit guardians represent the relationship between humans and the natural world. The warrior sees its strength in the gorilla, the hunter his speed in the jaguar, the strategist his vigilance in the eagle, and the apothecary sees its practice in the centipede and the decay that consumes it.
- Use the new skill tag, Incarnate, to embody the Guardian’s traits and gain a passive bonus.
- New and unique Legends designed specifically for the Spiritborn will be available with the Vessel of Hatred expansion. These items can cater to different playstyles of Spirit Guardians, enhance abilities, or boost the player’s latent power.
- A new class quest will be available for Spiritborn once players reach level 15. When you embark on this quest, you can adapt to the ways of the Spirit Guardians and unlock the Spirit Hall.
- Use the Spirit Hall to enhance Spiritborn builds by selecting a primary spirit to gain a special bonus and adding the Spirit Skill Mark to all skills. At level 30, players can select a secondary bonus from the same guardian or from another to strengthen the bond or intertwine with another guardian’s mechanics.
