Dutch qualifying result: Crazy Norris takes first place, Verstappen second

The starting line-up for the Dutch Grand Prix has been announced. Pole position has been taken at the famous Zandvoort circuit. Lando Norris. The second time was set by Max Verstappen, top three finishes Oscar Piastri.

Q1

The first qualifying session started very quietly in Zandvoort. There was certainly no line at the end of the pit lane, and track conditions were different to earlier in the day. The weather was dry, which meant that for the first time this weekend the drivers had to deal with a completely dry track.

Logan Sargent did not participate in the hearing due to Williams couldn’t get his car repaired in time after crashing in FP3. The best players took to the track, and things didn’t go well there either. Ferrari was a little behind, and Lewis Hamilton was sitting Sergio Perez on the way. The Mexican was furious and the stewards will investigate this moment. In the final stage several fast times were set and also fell next to Sargeant Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon, Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Chu off.

Q2

The Ferraris were the first to hit the track at the start of the second part of qualifying. The Scuderia cars were not very quick, and that became painfully obvious towards the end of the session. Charles Leclerc managed to get through to Q3, but Carlos Sainz retired. He wasn’t the only unlucky driver on the day, as Lewis Hamilton also couldn’t make an impact with a can of butter. The Briton also has to fear a grid penalty for his moment with Perez in Q1. In addition, Sainz and Hamilton also fell. Yuki Tsunoda, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen out.

Q3

Max Verstappen was one of the first drivers to take to the track in Q3 of qualifying. He was joined by McLaren, and it was clear that the papaya-coloured cars would be his biggest rivals. Lando Norris started the session well, landing the first punch. However, Verstappen continued to advance too and in his second lap he was quicker than Norris. However, the Briton stepped on the gas and set a miraculous time. He was easily quicker than his rivals, and no one expected that.
