Elon Musk has announced a major change to the X app, formerly known as Twitter. He wants to remove the like, repost, and reply buttons from the feed entirely. Users will have to swipe left or right on a tweet to see these reactions. Despite the overwhelmingly negative reaction, Musk is sticking to his decision.
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter in October 2022, the app has already seen major changes. The name has been changed to X and the look and content have been completely overhauled. Now, another major change is in the works.
No more like, repost and reply buttons in the feed.
Musk wants to remove the so-called share buttons on X from the feed. This relates to the buttons to like, retweet, and reply to a tweet. The counters that show the number of likes, retweets, and comments will also disappear. Only the posts themselves will be visible in the feed. The only remaining counter is the number of views, which will move to the top right corner.

Despite the wave of criticism, Elon Musk is fully behind the change. He responded to one critical comment about the video by saying, “This is amazing. Just swipe left to like and right to comment.”
