A new Ghostbusters game is in the works. This reports on Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zidmore in the film franchise. The game appears to be in an early stage of development. The latest Ghostbusters game was released in 2009.
Ernie Hudson mentioned the game during a celebrity celebration in Texas, writes Video games. “I just got an email because we’re working on a new game,” Hudson said. “They’re scheduling a shoot now and I’m not sure who he’s going to be in. Me and Danny Aykroyd, I think. I’m not sure if Billy Murray will be joining in. So there’s going to be another video game.”
Hudson reported that he provided input about his character prototypes in the game, saying that the development team would struggle to recreate his character in the game. The actor did not provide any other details about the game. It is also not known when the game will be released. “I don’t know when they will release that, but it will definitely happen.”
The actor didn’t mention the studio working on Ghostbusters, but it’s believed to be Friday the 13th by developer Illfonic. Raphael Sadek, co-founder of Illfonic, already left in October that the studio was working on Ghostbusters, PCGamesN writes. Until then no details were mentioned.
The last major Ghostbusters game was released in 2009 for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, and Nintendo DS. A modified version of this was released in 2019. Also in 2011, a top-down shooter game was released for PC and consoles, called Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime.
