Evernote Free Version Gets Limitations (These Are the Alternatives Available to You)

The free version of Evernote has limitations

Evernote is a popular app for taking and organizing notes and to-do lists. Using the app, you can take notes consisting of a piece of rich text, a web page (part of), an image, an audio recording, or handwritten text. Notes can also have files as attachments and can be sorted into a notebook.

However, since December 4, the free version of the note-taking app has received some limitations, which is unfortunate. For example, users of the free version of Evernote can only save a maximum of fifty notes and have only one notebook. Did you have a free account with more than fifty notes? After that, it will still be available in the app.

However, it’s unfortunate that Evernote offers these limitations. But fortunately, there are also similar apps that you can use as well. We have created a list of Evernote alternatives for you.

1. Notes: Available for free on all iPhone and iPad

The standard Notes app is available for free on all iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. All your writing is synced between different devices, and you can add a to-do list, drawing or photo with the touch of a button. Do you only work with Apple devices and don’t have a lot of business requirements? Then you should definitely try Notes app.

2. Bear: Alternative to Evernote

Bear is a straightforward app that’s all about your notes. The app has been around for years and now has a large group of users. Bear works well and you can easily export your writing to other (non-Apple) systems.

Bear is free, just like Evernote, but you’re missing some features (including the syncing that the paid version requires). Fortunately, the prices aren’t too bad. Bear Pro costs €2.99 per month. For a whole year you pay 34.99 euros. Bear is thus the best paid alternative to Evernote, but only for Apple users. The app is only available on Apple devices.

3. Obsidian: clear and organized

Obsidian is a note-taking app that has a lot of features. You can of course take notes and manage them, but they can also be ‘linked’ together. The interface is very clear and uncluttered, but it also looks a bit boring. You can give Obisidian new functionality using plugins, but it’s sometimes difficult to make them entirely your own. But the best thing about this app? It’s completely free.

4. Craftsmanship: An alternative with a beautiful interface

Craft is very easy to use and uses swipe motions, for example, to adjust the font of text. This works very well in practice. This also makes the Craft display very tidy.

Like Evernote, the app is free to use, but it has some limitations. There are some rules when exporting your files and you may sometimes encounter other restrictions.
