Passing a yellow flag when FIA qualifies will eliminate the time spent in a driver’s lap in the United States. This new rule applies for the first time during the US Grand Prix. Due to the rule, there will be more clarity and the debate over whether a driver will pass will expire. Race I have confirmed this via Twitter.
It won the last racing weekend in Turkey Fernando Alonso. When he sat on one lap and his competitors were hanging the yellow flag at the same time, he was allowed to inform the racing management. However, he was given the benefit of the doubt by the racing management. Eventually, he escaped without punishment. After that his flying lap was fast for three seconds.
Track limits
This rule already exists for track limits. If a track limit is exceeded, the time will be removed immediately. Michael Masi previously said he would like to see such a system for the yellow flag. The new system will be tested during the US Grand Prix this weekend.
# F1 The practice will feature yellow flags with double waves and a new rule for qualifying this weekend. Any driver in the double yellow field should automatically remove their lap time. It was recommended after the incident of qualified Fernando Alonso in Turkey.#USGP | # F1
