Kylian Mbappe stole the show again for Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday evening. The star striker scored a hat-trick in the cup tie against Revel and set his side on course for a smooth 0-9 victory over the amateur club. But other important news also appeared on the sidelines of that party.
In recent days, the drama surrounding Mbappe's future has once again erupted in full force. Since January 1, the 25-year-old has been officially free to negotiate with other clubs, reviving rumors about a possible move to Real Madrid.
Mbappe agrees with Real Madrid
The Royals would also have immediately made a proposal to Mbappe, although this was subject to one important condition. Because they absolutely want to avoid a soap opera like 2022 – when Mbappe narrowly extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in May – they have demanded at Real Madrid that Mbappe makes a decision before mid-January.
The star announced, on Wednesday, after the French Super Cup final, that he had not yet made a decision about his future, but in a few days the cards will be completely different. The decision will finally be made: Mbappé will move to Real Madrid in the summer.
Transportation will be a piece of cake
This time this confirmation did not come from Spain, but from France. After all, at Footmercato, they are sure: Mbappe has reached an agreement with Real Madrid in recent days and will move to the Spanish capital after the season.
Thus, they obtained the star from Real Madrid, whom they certainly wanted to include next summer. So it looks like we just have to wait for the official announcement and more details about the impending transition. Unless of course the saga has an additional plot twist…
