At KRC Genk they have appointed a coach in Thorsten Fink who made the biggest impression in the Jupiler Pro League last year. He played very good football in STVV with the young players. They hope in Genk that the German can continue this work with them.
Fink wants to be successful.
Racing Genk have a young squad. They didn’t put in much effort last year, but Fink is a breath of fresh air. He wants to achieve success with young talent, and he’s made it clear on the club’s channels.
“We only have three older players in midfield. Then behind them are the young and very young players. I like working with young players, but we also have to be careful. If you only play with young players, there will be no one,” said the former Bayern Munich player. “I would be satisfied if we finished ninth, we want to succeed.”
Hard work at STVV
Genk have one of the best youth academies in Belgium and one of the best scouting agencies in the country. This creates a lot of young talent. They hope to have great football and trophies with Fink.
“Genk also brought me in because I had a lot of players from their academy playing at STVV. We also had success with that. And that didn’t go unnoticed. I’m very satisfied with the many young talents that are here,” he said.
