Former US President Donald Trump (yet) has not been allowed to return to Facebook

Today, a somewhat independent Facebook oversight panel has decided to confirm Trump’s ban for the time being. On the other hand, the board talks about “the company’s arbitrary decision”. Facebook is expected to make a final decision on the permit within six months, based on the severity of possible violations and damages in the future.

However, the council criticizes Facebook for removing Trump permanently and without clear procedures. “Facebook tried to avoid its responsibility by first making an ambiguous decision without many procedures and then mentioning it to the board,” the oversight panel said.

Trump mainly sent his ideas and plans to the world using Twitter.

Meanwhile, the White House has responded to the decision of Facebook’s independent oversight committee. U.S. President Joe Biden believes important social media sites have a responsibility to prevent the spread of misinformation.
