Aalst proved in the first set why he played the favorite role. At first he walked straight, but then Aalst managed to pull the sheet off for himself. The group win was the logical end result.
In the second set, Alast ran out again, but then Gent took a step forward. Aalst believed in a good result, but Ghent was not a cat bird. Thanks to the strong Jente De Vries, among other things, she even won the second set.
In the third set, Alst shook awake again and then widened a gap. She was offering 4 points, but she couldn’t hold that bonus for long. Gent was back at 19-19 and that was the breaking point for Alast.
Gent got 2 free kicks in the third set. Aalst still fell off the first ball, but the Ghent residents didn’t let the second group ball slip away.
Gent dived into the last set with great confidence. On the other hand, Aalst was already somewhat beaten up. Gentenaars continued their good momentum and made a 7-point lead, then a 10-point lead.
Aalst was no longer able to compete against his opponent and Gent was able to finish the match. The fourth set eventually ended at 14-25.
