Tomorrowland tries to make their festival worlds last a year or even longer. The idea for the water park originated from Planaxis, the theme of the popular festival in 2018, which contained an underwater world. With their new project “Life” – the theme of this year’s festivals – they want to bring the underwater world to life in a theme park. The “life” will consist of several swimming pools. Half will be covered and the other half will be outside. There will also be a restaurant and bar.
The project is currently still in its early stages. That’s why Tomorrowland Leisure is looking for partners who set standards as high as they do. The plans, which were showcased at MAPIC, were prepared in collaboration with Dutch theme park company Monumentum Leisure. The company was previously responsible for Majaland in Poland, a derivative of Plopsaland. It is also possible that the water park is located in Poland. For example, the village of Konate, about an hour’s drive from Berlin, is being considered. But Tomorrowland Leisure doesn’t want to commit itself to that location just yet. The final location will depend on the overseas partner and site logistics.
The water park seems like a new logical step for Tomorrowland. The company already has a roller coaster at Plopsaland De Panne: The Ride to Happiness. And in Dubai they have the luxury resort and camping site: Terra Solis.
