TelevisionSquid is no longer the most popular series on Netflix. The South Korean series should make way for “Cobra Kai”. Barely four days after its release on New Year’s Eve, the show can now officially call itself the most-watched series on the streaming platform.
Cobra Kai is based on the legendary 1984 film The Karate Kid, which focuses on the competitive martial arts world in California. The series, of which there are already four seasons, was already very popular anyway. In July, for example, “Cobra Kai” was nominated for four Emmy Awards, including Best Comedy Series.
According to ‘Variety’, the series took the number one spot in the Top 10 English TV Shows for the week from December 27 to January 2. The American magazine also reported that the fourth season of the series has already been watched by about 120 million hours. “Cobra Kai” performed better than “The Witcher” and “Emily in Paris”. Both titles recently received a second season on the streaming platform.
Season 5 is on the way
The movie ‘Cobra Kai’ saw the light in 2018 and quickly became famous. In the series, Daniel Larsso (played by Ralph Macchio) and his former teased actor Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) reunite for the first time in 34 years and their rivalry heats up. Others cast in the series include Tanner Buchanan, Jacob Bertrand, Marie Moser, Martin Cove, and Thomas Ian Griffith.
The fourth season of “Cobra Kai” isn’t the last either. Even before the release of the current part, the fifth season of the series had already been announced.
